Welcome to my blog!

Hello everyone!

*crickets chirping*

Okay, I suppose since I JUST created this blog no one is out there. Luckily I feel comfortable talking to myself. It's only crazy if you answer yourself.

A little about this blog....

Sew Long Weight...

Why "Sew" not "So"? Please grammar police do not hunt me down! I know the difference I swear!

I'm starting two new phases in my life and I feel like they're tied together. Sewing and weight loss. This blog will be a bit of both. I tell my hubby if I just sat down at my sewing machine every time I wanted to eat, I'd be skinny by now!

I've always loved to sew. Not that I have always been great at it. I'm more the stumbling as I go type. But I've decided to start making custom dresses for kids. The inspiration being my lovely 3 year old daughter. I have a friend that is really into custom creations. I'd see her buying these dresses for prices upwards of $150!

You read that right $150+!!!

There was noooo way that would fly past my husband. Not for a 3 year old. No way. No how.

So for Christmas I asked for a sewing machine. Ask and ye shall receive because I got one! Since then I've made quite a few dresses, though I'm still learning every day something new. I hope this will be a place to document all that. I'll be posting pictures of my works in progress and peaks at all the awesome fabric I spend entirely too much money on. *coughs$157atthefabricstoreyesterdaycoughs*

The other part of the blog is my weight loss journey.

I started last year 2012 weighing 302lbs. That was a revelation for me. A damn scary one too. I'm almost 29 and weighed 302lbs. I've always been on the "chunky" side but really let myself go after having my daughter. As I type to you right now I weigh about 280lbs.

Truthfully I haven't given this weight loss experience my everything. But I'm going to try now. I'm not sure what is motivating me, but I think it's going to stick this time. I've joined a local weight loss challenge that starts this Wednesday. I'll be posting my weigh in results. Sometimes sharing some healthy recipes I've found along the way.

I'm sure all of this will get mixed in with daily blogging about being a mom and a wife as well. Obviously I have a hard time focusing on just one subject. I hope it's going to be entertaining, that's what I'm going for anyway. I'd love to make new sewing friends, or weight loss buddies. Anything to keep me accountable!

*deep breath*

Well, now that I've rambled on and on...  I believe my hubby and the kiddo want dinner. The little one is demanding tacos (her ultimate favorite.... this week...). I'm going to make them with ground turkey and homemade taco seasoning to cut some calories and put them on whole wheat tortilla shells. This all sounds good in theory, but lets see how my little food critic likes it.

Have a good evening everyone!
